What began as a quarterly print magazine in San Antonio is now a certified publishing and advertising company serving businesses, chambers and public agencies across seven Texas counties.

Our mission

A platform, not a pedestal.

We provide a platform to promote cultural expression through a variety of arts and entertainment and events, and networking between communities and businesses.

Fil-Am World Magazine was established by Romelette Metz on 23 March 2010 as a publishing and advertising company. Sixteen years on, the brief is unchanged — give people something worth reading, and give the businesses in those pages a real route to growth.

Our story

How a quarterly became a media company.

2010 — In print

Founded on 23 March by Romelette Metz. Quarterly print editions covering Filipino-American life in San Antonio.

2019 — Online, worldwide

The e-magazine launches in March, taking the title to readers well beyond Texas.

2020–21 — The pivot

Through the pandemic the business moved decisively into digital presence and professional services. By early 2021 we had our first business clients and our first office.

2022 — Under contract

In June we became a government contractor across seven counties, with vendor registration for both the City of San Antonio and Bexar County.
